Midnight Sun

You know Stephanie Meyer? The author of the Twilight series and The Host (FYI, the host is 1 of my favorite books. very sci-fi). I was browsing through her website to find more info on The Host and also found her partial draft on Midnight Sun. It's Twilight, except it's from Edward's point of view. Here's the link: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partial_draft4.pdf

It's really different, lots of emotions, not a lot of talking (no offense stephanie meyer!)
What the book might of looked like:

Prisoner escapee

A whole bunch of people are like really mad at a certain guy right now. Yesterday, a prisoner escaped from the police in Palatine, and like all the schools had to enforce a 'soft lockdown'. What that means is that we actually don't have to be locked in our rooms hiding from view for the whole day, that's a real lockdown. For soft lockdowns, we can do whatever, aka regular classes, except we just can't go outside.
So, the police didn't catch that guy until about three hours ago, and today was our school picnic. Hey, we did have to pay a couple of bucks for pizza and stuff. Well, aren't "picnics" supposed to outside. So, pizza, pop, and ice-cream inside and a bunch of games...best picnic ever *note the sarcasm*.
Actually, from my perspective, it really wasn't that bad. We played 'spoons' and had an assembly. They were like a percussion group that used trash cans to make music. It's pretty cool about that they came from Northwestern, I wanna go there when I'm in college.

types of fabrics

Hmmm...maybe I'll do something with fabrics. See which kind can absorb the most, hold the most weight, the stretchiest, whatever. It's kind of interesting about how many kinds of fabrics there are.

Cotton is a from a natural fiber that's used in a variety of clothing and furnishings (home). It's easily washed and dry cleaned. Cotton's a strong fabric that's absorbent, but is easy to wrinkle, so cotton and polyester blends are popular!

Polyester is also strong and durable. It dries very quickly and can only be washable or dry clean only. Often used as an blend with all other different fabrics so it can lend wrinkle resistance. It may not be the easiest fabric to remove stains from though. Polyester is a synthetic type of fabric!

Nylon is strong and weighs little. It's easy to wash and take care of. Since it's good at resisting and absorbing moisture, it dries quickly. Most often found in swinsuits. Nylon is a synthetic fabric.

Linen is a also from a natural fiber that's very strong and comfortable. It can be either hand washed or dry cleaned only. Linen is most often used for curtains and tablecloths. It's also a popular choice for clothing!

Acrylic cloth is a synthetic (or sometimes manufactured) fiber that's soft and and light. It dries very easily and can be machine washable. They are popular because of they can still keep their shape and texture after washing. But, there can be a lot of static 'clinging' afterwards.

Rayon is both a soft and comfortable fabric that can absorb a lot and doesn't have a lot of static problems. It has problems with shrinking though.

Acetate is a synthetic and manufactured fiber that has a silky appearance. It dries easily and can resists absorbing moisture. Most acetate fabrics usually needs to be dry cleaned for 'perfection'. Acetate is used in clothing and home furnishings.
