still in vienna...

We bought some internet for another 24 hours so here i am again. so, today is technically out last day in vienna, we're leaving tomorrow at 8:30 in the morning (sob...have to get up at 6 to catch a taxi, not a morning person).
another boring-recap-that-only-i'm-gonna-read:
yesterday, i also had to wake up really early in the morning to go sightseeing. as in looking at museums and stuff, randomly standing around not doing anything while my mom takes pictures and still getting really sore feet. so yea we did see a bunch of really famous sights

some of the places we went:

  • Parliment

  • Belvedere palace and gardens

  • Stephansdom
  • Hofburg complex

  • Karlskirche Burg Theater

  • Schwarzenbergplatz

And then, the next day we went only (yes, only) 2 places cuz they were really far from each other. good thing we didnt walk.

  • Schonbrunn Palace

  • Prater's Ferris Wheel

vienna

I'm currently in Vienna, Austria, halfway around the world from Chicago. right now, I'm just in my hotel room, trying to get rid of my jet lag and everything. since I'm only here with my mom (and since she's only here because of a business trip -free hotel room- she's at a conference today) i get to roam around Vienna by myself. if only i could actually speak German. what if i got lost around here o_o

everything in a nutshell until now:

  • left Chicago at 2:30 (afternoon of course) and had like an 8 hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany, where we had to catch another plane to Vienna. but, since we arrived around 5 in the morning (Germany time), and our plane to Vienna was at 12, so we crashed in the Germany welcome lounge for the whole time. mostly, i 'tried' to sleep of my jet lag. the food was really good there, except for the hot dogs :(
  • we arrived at around 2-ish in the afternoon. since there was pretty much no time to do anything, we got directions to this walking-only-no-cars-streets-with-a-lot-of-shops, and we just wandered around over there and ate dinner (Vienna schnitzel). you know, you have to pay extra for water here. in fact, after i finish this post, ima go get some lunch at the walking-only street
  • so mozart used to live by vienna. NOT in vienna but kinda close by. yesterday, we went on this tour that went to salzburg (which is where mozart lived and where the sound of music was cast). took 4 hours to get there, so i pretty much slept the entire time ^^. then, when we got off, the tour guide did his job and stuff, and we got free time. 3 hours i think? we then ate lunch, my mom took a picture of the waitress's hair..... and we had this awesome kind of chocolate! it's like chocolate on the outside and an unknown (at least to me) filling. oh, and my mom DID take a gazillion pictures. and my shoes got so wet that i had to throw it out 0_0
  • one thing i have to say, Vienna is almost like a modern Paris. the buildings kinda have the same structure (except the exterior is...whiter?), and statues everywhere (lotsa them are from ancient Greek people and mythology). the roofs of the buildings are mostly red, except for some of the more famous and bigger ones. those kinds of buildings' roofs are green and gold. hehe, sounds familiar?

btw, the water here, there are 2 types. still and sparkling... the sparkling one, in my opinion, is gross xD

boys that bite

I LUV vamp books. a lot of them, but not all. Like twilight for example. "If you think about it" (a quote from the most annoyingest hand washing video we had to watch every year in elementary school), its kinda lame, but its kinda interesting to read. like the fight scenes.
my 2 favorite vamp series are the Boys that Bite (luv that title), and the Marked books.
(fyi, and no, i didn't write the summary thingies)

Boys that Bite
My mom is so going to kill me if she finds out I'm turning into a vampire...

Okay, so technically she can't because I'm immortal. Well, not yet. See, due to the worst case of mistaken identity with my dark-side-loving twin sister at a Goth hangout called Club Fang, Magnus, a vampire hottie, went for my innocent neck instead of hers. Now, if I don't reverse it in time, Magnus will be my blood mate forever and I'm doomed to be a blood-gulping, pasty, daylight-hating vampire. Believe me, it seriously bites!

After the unfortunate slaying of the vampire leader, it's up to me, my sister, and Magnus to find the one thing that can solve my problem--the Holy Grail. No joke. I seriously hope I can get out of this on time because, somehow, I scored the hottest prom date in my school, the mouth-watering Jake Wilder. And I do NOT want to be a vampire for the prom--let alone the rest of eternity.

Stake That
All I want is to be a vampire. But nooo-I have to be Rayne MacDonald, Vampire Slayer....

Sisters. They'll swipe your clothes, your boyfriends, your destiny. But it wasn't exactly my twin Sunny's fault. Magnus, vampire hottie and coven leader, mistook her for me last month and bit her instead. Now they're doing the inter-species dating thing.

But back to me. Turns out that for every generation, there's a Vampire Slayer-and this time around, it just happens to be yours truly. My first mission: infiltrate a seedy vamp bar downtown and expose its vampire owner for purposely spreading a blood disease he created himself. A task almost harder than passing trig.

After going it alone once, I realize I need help. So Magnus sends his hot homey Jareth to go undercover with me. And let me just say I wouldn't mind going under the covers with him. Maybe fate doesn't bite after all...

Girls that Growl
I'm a vampire. I'm also a vampire slayer. (It's a long story-don't ask.) And now I, Rayne MacDonald, Goth Girl, have to try out for THE CHEERLEADING SQUAD?

You'd think after I saved my coven last semester, I'd get a break or something. I've got enough on my plate: my twin keeps whining about whether or not to go all the way; Mom's boyfriend is moving in; and my man, Jareth, who's now allowed out in the sun, has turned from a dark, brooding hottie vamp into a surfer dude...

But I'm still on the clock and have a new assignment. A member of the football team has disappeared-and Slayer, Inc. thinks the cheerleaders had something to do with it-and that they're werewolves. I always knew they were a pack of bite...Now they want me to infiltrate the squad and get the dirt. But first, I'll need an extreme prep makeover. If only they'd let me wear fishnets under this revolting uniform...

Bad Blood
Sunny McDonald is in the ultimate forbidden relationship. Her boyfriend Magnus is a vampire, and the leader of the Blood Coven. Their differences have never been an issue, until now…

When the Blood Coven decides that Magnus needs a mate to be his co-ruler, Sunny’s humanity puts her out of the running. The Coven’s chosen candidate is Jane Johnson, a magna cum laude graduate of Oxford University who just happens to look like a vampiric celebutante.

Sunny is suspicious of a Rhodes Scholar who can’t answer the most basic poly-sci questions, but Magnus brushes it off as petty jealousy. Still, when the Blood Coven goes to Las Vegas for a vampire convention—where Magnus and Jane’s bonding ceremony will be the main event—Sunny and her sister Rayne secretly tag along. And Sunny’s not going home before she learns the truth about Jane. Because not everything stays in Vegas—especially bad blood…

Huh...i didn't know that bad blood came out already o_o
woah...the author that wrote these books also wrote Gamer Girl? No WAY!
