everything in a nutshell until now:
- left Chicago at 2:30 (afternoon of course) and had like an 8 hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany, where we had to catch another plane to Vienna. but, since we arrived around 5 in the morning (Germany time), and our plane to Vienna was at 12, so we crashed in the Germany welcome lounge for the whole time. mostly, i 'tried' to sleep of my jet lag. the food was really good there, except for the hot dogs :(
- we arrived at around 2-ish in the afternoon. since there was pretty much no time to do anything, we got directions to this walking-only-no-cars-streets-with-a-lot-of-shops, and we just wandered around over there and ate dinner (Vienna schnitzel). you know, you have to pay extra for water here. in fact, after i finish this post, ima go get some lunch at the walking-only street
- so mozart used to live by vienna. NOT in vienna but kinda close by. yesterday, we went on this tour that went to salzburg (which is where mozart lived and where the sound of music was cast). took 4 hours to get there, so i pretty much slept the entire time ^^. then, when we got off, the tour guide did his job and stuff, and we got free time. 3 hours i think? we then ate lunch, my mom took a picture of the waitress's hair..... and we had this awesome kind of chocolate! it's like chocolate on the outside and an unknown (at least to me) filling. oh, and my mom DID take a gazillion pictures. and my shoes got so wet that i had to throw it out 0_0
- one thing i have to say, Vienna is almost like a modern Paris. the buildings kinda have the same structure (except the exterior is...whiter?), and statues everywhere (lotsa them are from ancient Greek people and mythology). the roofs of the buildings are mostly red, except for some of the more famous and bigger ones. those kinds of buildings' roofs are green and gold. hehe, sounds familiar?
btw, the water here, there are 2 types. still and sparkling... the sparkling one, in my opinion, is gross xD
