water
oh yea, we did this awesome gel electrophoresis experiment thingy today. we used this micropipette that made me feel sorta professionalish :D
btw, im probably gonna fill up most of the posts this week with me studying so.....
Properties of water
1) High specific heat
The specific amount of heat energy that must be added to a gram of a substance to change its temperature by one degree celcius
tempereature= average kenetic energy of the molecules in a substance
kenetic energy=energy of motion
2) Water is a powerful solvent
ionic compounds
dissociation = seperation of ions in an ionic compound
acids increase H+ concentration in a solution
3) High heat of vapoization
Heat energy is required to change the state of a substance from liquid to gas
evaporation cooling = water takes a lot of heat energy with it when it evaporates and maintains homeostasis
4) Ice is less dense than water
it expands when frozen

calc
sighh, i heard the alg 2 finals are really hard. made me feel quite angry inside, since it made me remember about my 91.37% in math 1st quarter. fml. if only i got that one question right on my test.
ah well, that's the past. i wonder how ima do on my finals. i don't like studying. heh, probably no one does..
is it just me, or is English sorta hard to study for. i feel like all you need to do is remember all the stories you read, and what they're about. maybe some random vocab?
nvm, it didnt work so i took it out cuz it was messing up the whole website...
i sometimes feel like the best way i study is:
1: writing on my hand
2:typing
it really depends on when and what the subject is..
like i guess for like science and social studies, its really a good idea to outline all the stuff you learned.
but, if its math, just write down the formulas that you suck the most at and write it on your hand.
however the best thing is to actually know what the semester was about..
anyways, i gotta study for this huge important math test that's gonna determine my grade for this quarter. lets see if typing helps? lalala
variations
y varies directly as x, or y is directly proportional to x, if there exists a nonzero real number k, called the constant of variation, such that
y=kx
or
y/x=k
steps:
1: write the general relationship among the variables as an equation. use constant k
3: substitute this value of k into the equation from step 1, obtaining a specific formula.
Direct Variation as nth power
n=positive real number.
y varies directly as the nth power of x
y=kx^n
or
k=y/x^n
Inverse Variation
y varies inversely of the nth power of x
y=k/x
k=xy
Joint variation
m and n = real numbers
y varies jointly as the nth power of x and the mth power of z
y=kx^n z^m

new year
so, i got a C on my bio test that i took right before break. so when my bio teacher asked for my parent's email, i started freaking out.. seriously, scared the hell outa me o_o
the only good part about my finals (if there ever was a good part of it) is my schedule. the only finals i have to take are bio the first day, math and English the 2nd day with a free period in between, and Spanish the 3rd day. i totally feel soo lucky that I'm able to study more. but, the thing i really hate is when u study the whole night, and when it's time to take the test, you already forget all of it :( sighh...I'm soo bad at studying this year. and there's no way i can get an A in bio this semester, since i already have a B from last quarter, and a B for this quarter. so un-asianish of me xP
btw..like my awesome orange firework gif thingy? i luv animated stuff <3
